Weave Poles – from 0 to 12
This online class is about the detailed building up from the weave poles in which value is placed on understanding and speed right from the start. Suitable for dogs who just start their weave poles adventure or who need to improve their understanding.
GENERAL INFORMATION
We focus on a clean and well thought-out structure of the weave poles building up and is ideally suited for dogs who have no experience with this obstacle as well as for dogs who still have gaps in their understanding and want to improve it. The focus is on independence, reliability, speed, entries, exits and discrimination – right from the start!
Which method will be used?
I work with a channel which at the beginning only consists of 4 poles so that the dog can achieve success as quickly as possible. This promotes self-confidence and speed right from the start. Gradually the weave poless becomes a closed and later 12-part obstacle which speaks for less stress on the dogs body, too.
Which age is the best?
To be honest think it is advisable to wait until the age of about 13/14 months with the start as this obstacle is very demanding and you can reach your goal faster when the dog is older. In addition, as always, I pay attention to some good foundations! However, I don’t really care whether a dog prefers to be rewared with toys (static and out of hand) or with food (food machine and out of hand) – I cover both in this course.
With or without guide wires / fences?
Since this is a matter of taste and I personally see advantages and disadvantages in working with these helpers, I offer both options. Means that I show the exercises with and without guiding wires / fences on different dogs; however, the basic principle remains the same and I personally prefer to work with guiding wires.
Which equipment is necessary?
Since we only work with 4 poles at the beginning there are several options; like for example stick-in-the-ground-poles or a part of aweave poles set (the base should be divisible).
Later it should be possible to build a channel with up to 12 poles or you should have the option to train on a complete slalom. I can recommend the following products for a setup (unpaid advertising!):
- Gassenslalom von Galican (my favorite)
- Zig/Zag-Slalom von Galican (the disadvantage is that the distance between the poles doesn‘t correspond to the reality of the later complete weave poles; but it is reasonable)
Then of course you still need the wanted helpers (guiding wires / fences) if you want to work with them. It is also an advantage if you have access to a jump or tunnel from time to time. However, 2 barrels / pylons are also fine in the end.

In contrast to a working spot an auditing spot can be booked and started at any time!
I offer working spots mostly at the beginning of every second or third month. The number of students is very limited! An early registration makes sense but doesn‘t guarantee a spot.
→ COURSE DURATION & SCHEDULE
There are several lessons which appear several times a week or weekly.
Working spots receive 6 weeks of feedback on team-related questions and videos. General questions are allowed to be asked by everyone.
You have a total of 6 months access to all content. However, it is also possible to extend the access time after it has expired.

The working spots are strictly limited and will be confirmed personally. The course starts at the beginning of every second month.

Auditing spots – 50 € incl. (german) taxes
The auditing spots are not limited and can be started at any time. If you have paid with PayPal the online course starts immediately. Bank transfers have to be received first.

CONTENT
All lessons are described in detail and including video examples for better understanding.
The goal will be to be able to complete the whole weave poles from different angles and discriminations; no matter what the handler does.
REQUIREMENTS
→ AGE OF THE DOG
The dog should be around 13/14 months old; even with smaller dogs it makes no sense before.
→ MATERIALS

→ TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Of course you need an internet-enabled device to access the protected member area which contains all course content and the forum. Facebook is not required!
As an working participant you should also have the option of filming yourself and your dog (for example with a smartphone and tripod) and uploading these videos externally (for example to a free YouTube account)!

You want a working spot: Select the online course/training, click on "Register" and fill out the following registration form. After checking whether there are still places available for your desired start date or not, I will get in touch with you. If the form cannot be filled out the classes are already full or no working sports are planned!
